Vehicle Acc W/ Entrapment Box 35-236 |
By Asst Chief Gouker |
May 24, 2009 |
On May 16th Rescue 36 was requested as mutual aid on Box 35-236 (Station 35 - Dallastown) for a vehicle accident with entrapment. Captain 36 arrived to find a single vehicle accident where a Corvette had struck a telephone pole. The pole had heavily impinged into the passenger compartment trapping the driver. 35 and 36 personnel worked together to remove the patient from the vehicle. The composition of the car and the instability of the pole made work difficult for the crews. Rescue 36 employed all of its Hurst equipment including the "Jaws of Life" as well as multiple other tools to successfully complete the job. Units were placed in service at 0304hrs.
