MVA - No Injury

Friday, July 12, 2013 18:21 Crews responded to a non-injury accident during Friday evening's rain event. When crews arrived, they found 1 vehicle overturned with occupants out of the vehicle. This is a constant reminder to slow down during weather events especially at intersections and curves. Please drive safely.

     



 

Two Alarm Fire in York Township

Sunday, June 23, 2013  The third call of the day was for a two-alarm fire in an 18 Box in York Township.  Tanker and Rescue 36 were dispatched as part of the 2nd alarm assignment.  Tanker 36 responded followed a short time later by Attack 36 in place of the Rescue.  Tanker 36 arrived to a well-involved single-family dwelling.  The crew proceeded to the scene to assist with fire suppression while the driver and crew of the Attack established a water supply operation with a tanker shuttle.  A Port-A-Pond was set up at the end of the driveway and Tanker 36 became the nurse tanker/supply engine to the equipment on the scene.  A total of 10 tankers transported water from the fill site at Lake Redman to the scene.  Once established, the Tanker maintained a flow rate of 150 gallons per minute for master stream operations.  Unfortunately the house was a total loss. 





     



 

Second Vehicle Accident in Windsor Twp.

Sunday, June 23, 2013  The second call of the day was for a vehicle accident with injuries in the area of Windsor Wonderland.  No accident was found and upon investigation, it was determined that the accident was on Freysville Road in a 38 Box.  Deputy 38 continued Attack 36 and also requested Rescue 38.  Crews assisted with patient packaging and clearing the roadway of the vehicle and debris.


     



 

Vehicle Accident in Windsor Township

Sunday, June 23, 2013  Station 36 was alerted for a debris removal due to a vehicle accident.  Chief 36-1 arrived to find a two vehicle accident with one vehicle having struck a parked car.  EMS was added to the box due to severity of the impact.  Attack 36 arrived and the crew assisted with patient packaging and clearing the roadway of debris.  Both vehicles were towed from the scene.

     



 

Vehicle Fire Keller Dr. York Twp.

Monday, May 13, 2013 17:57 Rescue 36 was dispatched to Keller Dr. in York Twp. for a vehicle fire.  Captain 36 arrived on location and found a fully involved vehicle fire at the entrance to Oakwood Estates.  Crews extinguished the fire with a single 1 3/4 inch bumper line.  Here is cell phone video of the fire.  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5UaMiymGL90


     



 

Members Attend 2013 Trench Weekend

Saturday, May 4, 2013  Members attended and instructed at YCATR's Trench Weekend 2013.  Members/Teams from the states of PA, MD , DE, MA, NJ, and DC participated in various accident scenarios involving dug trenches.  Obstacles of concrete pipes and boxes were added that needed to be removed from on top of simulated victims.  Thanks goes out to YCATR for the organization and realistic scenarios.


     



 

Crews Handle Vehicle Fire

Wednesday, May 1, 2013 11:59 Crews were dispatched for a working vehicle fire today in York Township. Rescue 36 arrived on location, and made quick work of the fire. Rescue 36 was placed back in service within 30 minutes.

     



 

Station 36 Extends Thoughts And Prayers

Please keep the members of station 63 and the family of Chief Rodney Miller in your thoughts and prayers. Chief Miller was struck by a vehicle and killed in the line of duty early this morning while working at a vehicle accident on I-83. Chief Miller was a devoted leader and will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege to know and work with him. Rest in peace chief. Watch over us from above.



   


 

Rescue 36 Assists Rescue 34 With Prom Demonstration

Friday, April 26, 2013  Rescue 36 along with 5 crew members assisted Rescue 34 with a Mock Vehicle Accident for Red Lion High School's Senior Class.  The purpose of the demonstration was to teach the Seniors about the dangers of drinking and driving during the prom.  Statistics show that more teens are injuried during the time between Prom and Graduation then any other time of the year.  Members extricated 3 victims during the demonstration.  Several other agencies participated as well.  This is the 7th year that the demonstration has been held.

     



 

Vehicle Fire in Windsor Twp.

Saturday, April 20, 2013  Rescue 36 was dispatched at 0958 hrs for a vehicle fire.  Enroute, Chief 36 was advised by YCC that PD was reporting a well involved vehicle fire approx. 20 feet from a structure.  Chief 36 added Tanker 36 to the box.  Rescue 36 arrived and found a pickup truck well involved.  The crew stretched a 1 3/4" line as well as an additional line with a metal piercing nozzle.  Tanker 36 arrived and supplied Rescue 36.  There was no damage to the close-by residence.  While at the call, YCC dispatched Station 36 for a vehicle accident in York Township.   Attack 36 responded as well as Rescue 19.  All units were placed in-service from the original Windsor Township call at 1100 hrs.
