Chicken Barn Fire

Friday, April 19, 2013  Station 36 was alerted at 1715 hrs to respond on the 2nd alarm assignment to a well involved chicken barn.  Tanker 36 responded and assisted with fire suppression as well as hauling water to supply several monitors and 2 aerial devices.  The tanker and crew were on scene well into the night.  The barn was brand new and did not have chickens in it.

     



 

Structure Fire in York Twp

Wednesday, April 10, 2013  On April 8th at approximately 1721hrs, Station 36 along with mutual aid departments were dispatched to a reported structure fire.  Both Rescue and Tanker 36 responded.  Additional information indicated that the rear porch of the residence was on fire.  Lt. 36-1 arrived and confirmed that the rear portion of the house was on fire and that it was extending to the interior of the structure.  A 2nd alarm was requested for additional equipment and manpower.  Crews attacked the fire and brought it under control in a short time.  The residence suffered significant damage both to its exterior and interior.  Station 36 equipment and crews were still on scene well after 2100hrs.


     



 

2013 Sportsman Raffle

Wednesday, April 10, 2013  Yoe Fire Company now has the 2013 Sportsman Raffle Tickets available for purchase. This year both Yoe & Dallastown Fire Companies are working together to sponsor the event. The attached photo shows the actual ticket and prizes. Two Grand Prizes this year consist of a Cast and Blast hunting and fishing trip for 4 on the beautiful Chesapeake Bay near St. Michaels Md., or an all day Striper Fishing trip for 4. Both fishing trips will be aboard the "Agitator" from Big Rig Charters with Captain Jeff Shahan.

   


 

Springwood Road Closed

Monday, April 1, 2013  Springwood Rd. is closed starting today for the next 3 months for bridge replacement over Mill Creek.  Springwood Rd. is close between Chapel Church Rd. and Camp Betty Washington Rd.  Please plan an alternate route.  Yoe Fire Company has planned our response to the affected area and will be calling our neighboring companies to assist us in the affected areas in order to continue to provide the quickest response possible.


   


 

Yoe Participates in Training

Saturday, March 30, 2013  Members of Yoe, York Township and Red Lion participated in annual Hazardous Materials Operations refresher training today.  Each year members must participate in 6 hours of Hazardous Materials Operations training.  Today 16 members spent their Saturday in classroom and hands on instruction in Identifying and remediating Hazardous Materials spills and incidents.  Retired York city Fire Chief John Senft was the instructor for this valuable class.


     



 

Yoe Trains With ATR Rigging and Lifting Heavy Objects

Sunday, March 24, 2013  YCATR 36 members participated in a day of rigging and lifting heavy objects at HACC with crews from across the state.  A total of 50 members of the technical teams present rotated through several stations that included crane operations in lifting various pieces of concrete, drilling and placing anchor points, gantry lifts with Paratech and AirShore lift systems using 20:1 mechanical advantage, and lifting a 68,000 lb rail tank car.  Members refreshed and learned many new skills.

     



 

Crews Handle Chimney Fire

Sunday, February 24, 2013  Crews were alerted to a chimney fire around 16:00. Stations 35, 34, 36 crews arrived to find a small fire in the chimney pipe from the wood stove in the basement.  Captain 36 (Strouse) had command Lt. 36-1 (Stem) had operations.  Crews checked the structure for extension.  Finding none crews from station 34 went to the roof and cleared any debris from the chimeny.

     



 

Tanker 36 Assists on 18 Box

Thursday, February 21, 2013  At 1608hrs Tanker 36 was dispatched to Brillhart Station Rd in York Twp for a working fire.  Tanker 36 responded and upon arrival the crew assisted with ovehauling the building and its contents.  No other services were needed.  The Tanker returned to the station at 1728hrs.

     



 

Crews Handle Vehicle Accident on Cape Horn Road

Tuesday, January 8, 2013  Crews were dispatched to cape Horn Road for a vehicle accident.  Crews found 1 vehicle on its side.  Crews assisted with traffic control and debris removal.

     



 

Day 2 of Training with Our Neighbors

Sunday, January 6, 2013 09:00 For the second day in a row, members of stations 19,35,and 36 trained together on various water supply methods as well as worked on ventilation and hand line attack methods on another building acquired by Chief Bastinelli of York Township fire company. Today was another positive day in the field by all who attended. Thank you to ALL members from all departments for attending.
