Members and invited guest gathered at the Dallastown Fire Hall to celebrate the accomplishments of the Yoe Fire Company, Ladies Auxiliary and Ambulance Club for 2011.  For the Fire Department the following people were recognized.

Yoe Assists on Red Lion High School Prom Promise

Friday, April 27, 2012  This morning Rescue 36 assisted Red Lion Fire Company and various EMS Agencies on a Vehicle Rescue Demonstration at the Red Lion High School.  The purpose was to demonstrate the affects of drinking and driving.  Crews "rescued" 6 entrapped occupants of 2 vehicles another occupant was arrested for "DUI" and the eighth occupant was "DOA".


   


 

Vehicle Fire with a Burn Victim

Friday, April 20, 2012  Just before lunch time crews from Yoe, Dallastown, and YAUFR were alerted to a vehicle fire in the parking lot of the Sonic at the Windsor Commons shopping center with a burn victim.  Chief 36-1 was on the scene within a minute and established command.  EMS Chief 36 (Hake) arrived on the scene shortly after and began patient care.  Aeromedical was called for dur to the extent of the patients injuries.  Rescue 36 and Engine 35-2 setup a landing zone in the parking lot.  The patient was flow to York Hospital where he was pronounced dead.  The coroner has ruled the death a suicide.

EMS, Fire and Police all did a great job on this very difficult call.

Structure Fire In a 38 Box

Wednesday, March 7, 2012  Station 36 was alerted for a structure fire in Windsor Twp. (38 Box).  Tanker 36 responded and reported heavy smoke showing from a distance.  Upon arrival the Tanker's crew stretched a line to the interior and commenced an aggressive attack.  EMS crews along with several bystanders hand stretched approx 500 ft of 4 inch line to a nearby hydrant.  The call went to 2nd alarm due to the need of additional manpower.  Crews were on scene for an extended period of time.  A special thanks goes out to the bystanders who help stretch the supply line and to Fox 43's Heather Warner for the great pictures.

Chief Myers Receives Award

Monday, March 5, 2012  Past Chief Barry Myers received an award from Windsor Township for his dedicated years of service.  For 22 years Chief Myers attended hundreds of meetings and worked with township officials to provide superior, affordable, and efficient fire protection to the residents of Windsor Township.  Past Chief Dan Orwig of Laurel Fire Company (Windsor, Sta 37) also received an award for his 30 years of service to the township.  Their 52 years of combined service are greatly appreciated and will be missed.


     



 

Structure Fire In Windsor Twp

Sunday, February 19, 2012  Station 36 was alerted at 1207hrs for a car and garage fire on Garden Ct. in the Windsor Commons development.  Chief 36-1 arrived to find heavy fire in the garage on Side C of the structure with extention up the rear of the structure to the roof line.  Tanker 36 arrived and deployed 2 hand lines and 1 Akron Mercury.  Tk 34 went to Side A along with Rescue 36 to make entry  and extend hand lines into the three involved residences.  E-35-2 laid the initial supply line and Engine 34 laid a secondary line.  Box was placed in-service at 1651hrs.  A total of 12+ companies were involved as the call rose to 3 alarms.  Damage was estimated at $125,000.  A special thanks to Rescue 39 and Engine 38 for the stand-by.

LODD United Hook and Ladder 33

Thursday, January 19, 2012  On Wednesday January 18th United hook and Ladder 33 suffered a line of duty death of one of their members.  The members of Yoe fire company offer their condolences to 33 in their loss.  Rest in Peace Brother Little.


   


 

Yoe Assists on Structure Fire

Wednesday, January 18, 2012  Around 01:30 crews were dispatched to Nollyn Dr. for a garage fire in an attached garage.  Crews assisted with ventilation and checking for extension.  Crews returned to service after an hour.

     



 

Vehicle Accident in Windsor Township

Tuesday, January 3, 2012  At 2035hrs Rescue 36 was dispatched to Windsor Rd. in the area of Dietz Rd. for a vehicle accident with injuries.  Chief 36-2 went on location with a one vehicle accident.  Rescue 36 arrived and the crew assisted EMS with patient care.  Fire Police directed traffic around the scene until the roadway could be cleared.  Rescue 36 was placed in-service at 2124hrs.

     



 

Crews Celebrate the New Year at Station 36

Saturday, December 31, 2011  On New Years Eve members and their families gathered to enjoy a good meal and celebrate the New Year. Everyone brought a dish to share and watched movies. Crews responded to the final two calls of the year during this time. Both automatic Fire Alarms.
