At 0301hrs Stations 36, 34, 35, and 19 were dispatched for a structure fire with reported smoke and flames visible. Deputy 36 was advised that PD was on scene and had fire to the rear of the structure. Deputy 36 arrived and provided a dry chemical extinguisher to help them in the effort to extinguish the fire however smoke was still coming from beneath the siding. Tanker 36, Truck 34, and Engine 34 arrived. Lines were stretched and ladders were thrown. Truck 19 and Engines from 35 took position to the rear of the structure. Further investigation found that the fire was trapped between the asbestos siding and heavy beam walls and had been burning for some time. No fire reached the interior of the structure. The residents were awakened by smoke alarms in the house. Deputy 36 had command and Chief 34 had operations. The Red Cross provided services to the displaced residents.
