Surprising October Snow Storm

Saturday, October 29, 2011 South Central Pennsylvania was hit with one of the earliest snow storms ever recorded. Station 36's first due area received around 8 inches of heavy wet snow. The weight of the snow along with the trees still having their leaves caused many to fall and damage utility lines and residences. The roads also became extremely dangerous causing drivers to have a difficult time traveling. Station 36 handled 19 dispatched calls along with several others over the 24 hour period.
